Marjorie Lucille Newell, 93, of Benson, died at her home on Sunday, July 28. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2019, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Interment will be in the St. Bridgets’ Catholic Church Cemetery in De Graff.
Marjorie Lucille Newell was born on July 14, 1926 in De Graff, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank P. and Loretta (Byrne) Newell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in De Graff. She attended elementary school at District 28 Country School and De Graff Public School, and later graduated from Benson Senior High School. She lived in Benson and worked at Ben Franklin, Benson Grain Elevator, Chevy Garage in Benson, and in the food service at Benson High School. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She volunteered at Prairie Five. She enjoyed her involvement with groups at the church and watching the Minnesota Twins on television. She was called from this life on Sunday morning, July 28 at her home in Benson. She attained the age of 93 years and 14 days.
Marjorie is survived by her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Loretta Newell, her sisters, Mary Ann Knutson, Kathleen Newell, a brother Jim Newell, a brother-in-law Eldon Knutson, a sister-in-law Jean Newell, and a niece Jeanie Newell. Blessed be her memory.
