Dianna "Dee Dee" Hansen

Dianna “DeeDee” Marie Hansen was born February 18, 1950 in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Nelson) Sachs.  DeeDee was baptized May 19, 1950 and confirmed May 19, 1963, both at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township.  She was raised on the family farm in rural Holloway.  DeeDee attended country school and then transferred to Appleton High School, graduating, Class of 1967.  After High School, DeeDee attained her LPN degree in Willmar and then her RN degree in San Diego, CA.  She worked as a nurse at the Benson hospital for a short time and then at the VA Medical Center in San Diego for the bulk of her nursing career.  DeeDee was a member of the San Diego Blue Grass Society, 4-H, and was active in church activities.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking.

DeeDee was united in marriage to Roger Behrens on November 6, 1971.  This union was blessed with two years of marriage before Roger’s passing on November 18, 1973.  On August 9, 1986 DeeDee married James Hansen on the beach in San Diego, CA.  DeeDee and James spent over 12 years together before his death on January 8, 1999.

DeeDee passed away March 30, 2019 in Appleton Area Health Services –Care Center.  She attained 69 years, 1 month, and 12 days of age. DeeDee is survived by her mother, Emma Radcliffe of Appleton; sister-in-law, Mary Sachs of Appleton; nieces and nephews: Dr. William Sachs of Brainerd, Amy (Troy) Goehring of Ellendale, ND, Tony Sachs of Appleton, Nina (Chad) Nelson of Willmar, Thomas Sachs of Sioux Falls, SD, Dr. Naomi Gades (Leonardo Llames) of Scottsdale, AZ, Sarah (Troy) Tyson of Zumbro Falls, and Jeremy (Jodi) Gades of Holloway; nine grand-nieces and nephews; cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Sachs; husband, Roger Behrens in 1973, husband, James Hansen in 1999; brother, Merlyn Sachs; and sister, Vonda Gades.  Blessed be the memory of Dianna “DeeDee” Hansen.
