Joann M. Sabin Dokken was born May 9, 1981 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joan C. Sabin and Eldon A. Lone.
Joann was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and caring friend to many. She cherished her time with family and friends and maintained that connection through social media. Joann had many interests including spending time in her garden, animals, crafting, and online phone games. She was proud of her Native American heritage. Joann not only took the time to attain a greater understanding of Native American culture but many others as well.
Joann was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan. She never missed a game; if there wasn’t a TV she’d listen on the radio. Nothing could stop this steadfast fan from cheering on her team.
Joann touched many people’s life; the impact is tangible. She continuously gave of herself and was selfless in her will to serve others in their time of need. She comes from a large and loving family. Joann left us all far too soon. I know if we all carry a piece of Joann’s memory, we will be strong enough to live out her legacy.
Joann was called home to the heavens and spirit land March 19, 2019, in Appleton, Minnesota at the age of 37.
