Elenore Ramona Larson

Elenore Ramona (Smith) Larson was born July 18, 1929 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Lester Clifford and Enid Anita (Huston) Smith. She was baptized and confirmed in 1944 by Rev. George A. Dickson at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson, Minnesota. Elenore grew up on the farm in rural Benson and attended Country School and completed 8th grade in 1943. She completed her GED on April 25, 1979. On March 5, 1948, Elenore was united in marriage to Lester H. Larson at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. This union was blessed with more than 43 years of marriage and 5 children.
Elenore was a member of the Mrs. Jaycees, VFW Auxiliary, and Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting with her sisters, making lefse, gardening ~ especially irises, and playing bridge. Elenore loved visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Elenore passed away Monday, March 18, 2019, at Knute-Nelson Care Center in Alexandria. She attained the age of 89 years and 8 months. Elenore is survived by her son Steven (Colleen) Larson of The Villages, Florida, grandchildren Mark and Kristen, and great-grandchildren Wendy, Sydney and Shelby; son Stanley (Karen) Larson of Las Vegas, Nevada, grandchildren Melissa and Allison, and great-grandchildren Anthony, Nathan, Trevor, Timothy, Nicolas, Skylar, Cole, and Lila; daughter Janet (David) Keller of Alexandria, grandchildren Darrin, Davis and Daniel, and great-grandchildren Kennedi, Cali, Mason, Lincoln, Bode, Griffin, Jackson, Austin, and Cruz; daughter Julie (Ken) Peterson of Staples, grandchildren Matthew, Kayla and Jared, and great-grandchildren Orin, Josiah, Nova, Connor, Bryce, and Ezekiel; son Scott (Penny) Larson of Alexandria, and grandchildren Erik and Aaron; sister Cecil Ellingson of Benson; and brother Clifford “Cappy” Smith of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Larson on June 26, 1991; parents Lester and Enid Smith; brothers: Chester “Chet”, Harold, Perry, and Edward; sisters: Thelma, Arline, Evangeline, Lola, and Beulah; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
