Catherine F. “Kitty” Erhardt, 89, died Monday morning, September 24, 2018, at Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 27, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am to 10:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 28, at Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers. Interment will be in Church of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Danvers.
Catherine Frances Erhardt, “Kitty”, was born on December 15, 1928, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Daniel and Loretta (O’Connor) Hughes. She was baptized and confirmed at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers. She grew up in Danvers, Minnesota and attended elementary school in Danvers, graduated from Benson High School and then earned her degree at St. Cloud State Teacher's College.
On October 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Michael Erhardt at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers. To this union four sons and two daughters were born. Together Mike and Kitty were able to share in over 47 years of marriage.
Catherine taught school, worked for 3M, Future Products, Finger Hut, Meadow Lane Care Center and the Benson Golf Club. She was a member of St. Francis Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Kitty loved her children and grandchildren, her sister Loretta as well as her other siblings. She was called from this life on Monday morning, September 24, 2018 at the Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson. She attained the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
Kitty is survived by her children Michael (Linda) Erhardt of Pennock, Karen (Mike) Lee of DeGraff, David Erhardt of Benson, RoxAnne (James) Gosson of Mankato, Brian Erhardt of Montevideo, and Vincent Erhardt of Benson, grandchildren Mitchell Gosson, Nicole Thies, Michelle Buffie, Kristin Erhardt, Bethany Erhardt, Mary Jo Erhardt, Dylan Erhardt, and Alexis Erhardt; two great grandchildren Joselyn Erhardt and Dominic Lee; a sister Loretta Dineen of Benson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael on May 7, 2000; her parents Daniel and Loretta Hughes; her brothers Daniel, Eugene, Thomas, Charles, David, Frank, and Gerald; and her sister Judy Megaw. Blessed be her memory.
