Penny Lee Elizabeth Bertek

Penny Lee Elizabeth Bertek was born May 17, 1950, the daughter of Dory Gloria Helliksen and Lewjay Bertek in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. She was baptized confirmed in the Catholic faith. Penny grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. She lived in Arizona where she worked as a Flight Attendant. She retired here in Benson, Minnesota.
On July 5, 1991, Penny was united in marriage to Hugh Joseph Muehlberg, Jr. This union was blessed with more than 20 years of marriage. Penny truly enjoyed horseback riding, shopping, decorating for Christmas, and spending time with her girls and grandchildren.
Penny was called from this life on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in her home under Hospice care. She attained the age of 68 years, 3 months and 12 days.
She is survived by her mother, Dory Helliksen; children: Tamera (Rick) Evans of Sacramento, CA, Angela Ellingson of Benson, and Angelique Stallman of Frazee; grandchildren: Ashley, age 26, Austin, age 21, Taylor, age 10, Shania, age 19, Skylure, age 14, and Christian, age 10; siblings: Perry Bertek, Jay Bertek, Liz Bertek (Mike Hendrick), and Charly (Tracey) Bertek; and many nieces and nephews.
Penny was preceded in death by her father, Lewjay Bertek; her husband, Hugh Muehlberg, Jr. on March 12, 2012; Grandma Helliksen; and nephew, George Bertek. Blessed be the memory of Penny Bertek.
