Diane Kay (Sulier) Ascheman was born on August 21, 1948, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard and Viola (Hess) Sulier. She grew up in the Benson area and graduated from Benson High School. On November 19, 1966, Diane was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Ascheman at St. Francis Catholic Church. This union was blessed with more than 51 years of marriage, 4 children, and 5 grandchildren.
Diane and Bob moved to Danvers where they raised their 4 children. Diane ran a daycare out of her home for 25 years. Among many other things, she also cleaned at the State Bank of Danvers. Diane enjoyed many hobbies including camping, shopping, painting with her cousin Artis, decorating, cooking for a crowd, spoiling her grandkids, and attending coffee parties. She was called from this life on Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2018, at Homestead Place North in Benson. She attained the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 27 days.
She is survived by her children: Todd (Sue) Ascheman of Pennock, Scott Ascheman of Benson, Terry (Bill) Rhea of Avon, and Tony (Peggy) Ascheman of Hancock; grandchildren: Abigail Ascheman, Ross Ascheman, Kaitlyn Ascheman, Ryan Ascheman, and Billy Rhea; siblings: Marlene (Ramon) Castillo of Willmar, Richard (Lynette) Sulier of Benson, Delphine (Tony) Hargreaves of New London, Debra Peterson of Spicer, Brenda (Donnie) Jones of Benson, Peggy (Juan) Mejia of Benson, and David Sulier of Willmar; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband Robert on April 30, 2018; her parents Richard and Viola Sulier; and her sisters Connie Sulier and Tammy Sulier. Blessed be her memory.
