Marjorie Ann Cannon, 85, Benson, Minn., died Friday, May 18, 2018, at Meadow Lane Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Visitation will be from 5–7 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Visitation will continue from 10–11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Marjorie “Marge” Ann (Frerich) Cannon was born on April 28, 1933 in Clear Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of George Virgil and Esther Sofia (Whipper) Frerich. She was called from this life on Friday morning May 18, 2018.
Marge was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. She grew up in the St. Cloud area.
On June 23, 1953, Marge was united in marriage to Joseph Francis Cannon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. To this union eleven children were born. Together Joe and Marge were able to share in 55 years of marriage.
Joe and Marge lived north of DeGraff. Marge worked as a cook at various restaurants in the area. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, reading, playing bingo, and working crossword puzzles.
Marge is survived by her children: Michael (Janet Klang) Cannon of DeGraff, Patrick (Renee) Cannon of Benson, Francis (Linda) Cannon of Hutchinson, Rita (Dave) Wolf of Clara City, Rose (Rob) Beauchamp of Rice, Ruth (Dave) Arends of Glenwood, Renae (Monte) Storms of Hutchinson, Timothy (Vicki) Cannon of Morris, Gregory (Tina) Cannon of Redwood Falls, and Roxane (Denise) Cannon of Cambridge; 24 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and her special friend Diane Lane.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cannon on May 15, 2009; son, Kenneth Cannon; parents, Virgil and Esther Frerich; and siblings: Connie, Dwain, Robert, and Kenneth. Blessed be the memory of Marge Cannon.
