Marjorie Elaine “Maggie” Friedlein 84, of Murdock, (formerly Benson) passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on March 17 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held on Friday March 23rd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service.
Marge was born on March 16, 1934 in Pillsbury Township, Swift County to Wallace and Ella (Halverson) Loven. She attended school in Kerkhoven and graduated from Kerkhoven High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph Friedlein in 1955 and together they raised 6 children. Their union in marriage ended in 1998.
Marge worked for the Swift County Sheriff Department at the time of retirement in 1996. She also served as organist at Trinity Lutheran Church for 46 years. She enjoyed church activities, providing piano instruction, gardening, bird watching, baking, knitting, and quilting. She was a gifted musician and artist. She loved to travel both domestically and abroad. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, piano students, friends and family. In all she did, she was a faithful and committed servant of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Ella Loven; and her sisters, Verna Loskota and Betty Wickman; two infant siblings; and special friend Ingolf Urke.
She is survived by her children: Steve (Deb) Friedlein of Salt Lake City UT, Rick (Charlene) Friedlein of Maplewood, Trudy Kaiser of Benson, Rob Friedlein of St. Paul, Edward (Jen) Friedlein of Jackson MI, Missy (Bill) Boerboom of Ghent; Micky Stuivenberg (Menno Berndsen) of New South Wales Australia; siblings: Violet Swanson of Willmar, Wally (Phyllis) Loven of Kerkhoven, and John (Darlene) Loven of Paynesville; 14 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
