Clara Mae Brandt, 96, of Clontarf, Minn. died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Meadow Lane Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Benson. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m., with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Clara Mae Brandt was born May 19, 1921 in Hoff Township, Pope County, Minnesota, the daughter of Thomas J. and Edith (Goulet) Bouta. Clara lived in Clontarf area her entire life. She was a lifetime member of St. Malachy parish and St. Malachy CCW. She was a lady of great faith and very devoted to attending mass and praying the rosary.
Clara was a witty and fun loving lady. She enjoyed many gatherings with friends and family throughout the years. Clara’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. She loved holding and cuddling each new baby that came into the family. She will be missed by many. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her 6 children: Charles (Lois) Brandt of Clontarf, Marlene (Keith) Kent of Clontarf, Robert (Barbara) Brandt of Clontarf, Richard Brandt of Clontarf, Dennis (Teri) Brandt of Richville, and Randy (Karn) Brandt of Benson; 15 grandchildren: Jason Brandt, Anissa (Sander) Grotjohn, Chelsie (Mike) Lemberg, Lacey (Pat) Wersinger, Charles (Ann) Kent, Amanda (Nathan) Klucas, Ryan (Belinda) Brandt, Alicia (Dylan) Brandt, Nathan (Heather) Brandt, Tyler Brandt, Darcey (Tyrell) Brandt, Andrew (Carla) Brandt, Alexis (Jake) Brandt, Patrick Brandt, and Sarah Brandt; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Gert) Bouta of Clontarf; sister, Margaret Johnson of Benson; and many nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Charles in January of 1973, her parents, 12 siblings, and in-laws Henry and Bertha Brandt.
