Esther Florence Busse

Esther was born on December 5, 1930 in Okabena, Minnesota; daughter to Gustav and Johanna (Stumpf) Seydel. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Okabena and graduated from Okabena High School in 1948.

Esther married the love of her life, Raymond Busse, on November 27, 1949 in Okabena before relocating to Appleton, Minnesota, where they raised their three boys; Steven, Kevin, and Mark. Esther worked side-by-side on the family farm with Ray.

Esther adored spending time with her family, especially her ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She loved the holidays and family get-togethers. Esther cherished every opportunity to spend extra time with her family and friends.

Esther was an active member in her church, Bible study group and Ladies Aid organization. In her free time, she also enjoyed her flowers, gardening, playing bridge, golfing and fishing. Esther was best known for her optimism, infectious laugh, warm hugs, and always having a pot of hot coffee ready for visitors. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Esther is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Ray; their children Steven (Leah) Busse, Kevin Busse (Sue Chenard), and Mark Busse (Michelle McTighe); her grandchildren Noelle, Tonia (Rick Bryant), Noah, Grace, Raquel (Ty Beucler), Amy (Michael Kalkhoff), Hannah in Spirit, Chantae, Shannon, and Sheridan; her great-grandchildren Samuel, Benjamin, Adeline, Kennedy and Eleanor; her sister, Olive Volk; her sister-in-law, Joyce Seydel; and her brother-in-law, Martin Krause.

Esther was preceded in death by: her parents, Gustav and Johanna; her siblings Emilia Law, Hulda Schmidt, Gustav Seydel, Roland Seydel, Cora Buckwalter, Genevieve Lutz, Lester Seydel (her twin brother), Franklin Seydel, and Virginia Krause; and her granddaughter Hannah Busse.
