Katie Lynn Kohlman

Katie Lynn Kohlman was born September 14, 1990 in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Dennis and Patricia (Zahnow) Kohlman.  She was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Katie was raised in the Holloway area.  She attended elementary school in Appleton and graduated from Lac qui Parle Valley High School in 2009.  After high school, Katie attended South Central Community College, receiving an Associates in Science Degree in Business Management.

Katie loved animals, especially her beloved dogs, Daisy, Bailey, Honey, Zada, and her cat, Patches.  She enjoyed listening to music and taking pictures.  Katie was known to be a story-teller...which helped her to be named “Most Humorous” during her senior year in high school.  More than anything, Katie loved to be with those she loved and cared for…her family and her many friends.

Katie passed away Thursday, October 26th in North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.  She attained 27 years, 1 month, and 12 days of age.  She is survived by her parents: Patricia Kohlman of Holloway, Dennis (Vicki) Kohlman of Appleton; siblings: Michael (Carol) Kohlman of Murdock, Michelle (James) Vortherms of Sioux Falls, SD, Danielle Krupke of Morris, William Stegner of Ortonville; grandmother, Eileen Kohlman of Appleton; nieces and nephews: Brittany Kohlman, Courtney (Austin) Rothers, Lane Kohlman, Emma Vortherms, Zachary Krupke, Alex Krupke, Madysen Stegner, Mackenzie Stegner, Kennedy Stegner; aunts and uncles: Vernon Zahnow, Karen Guenther, Susan Zahnow, David Zahnow, Stephanie and Brian Mahoney, Paul Zahnow, Judith Kohlman, Ron (Pat) Kohlman, Becky (Neal) Block, Kelly (Lorene) Kohlman; 5 great-aunts; special people: Joy and Jeff Funderburg, Abbi and Garrett;  many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents: Arthur “Sonny” Kohlman, Wilfred “Bill” and Leona Zahnow; and a brother, Ryan Holzheimer.
