Marie T. Muehlbauer, age 87, of Danvers, Minnesota, died Friday morning, October 27, at her home in rural Danvers. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 5 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, November 1 at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. Visitation will continue from 9 – 10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 2, at Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers. Interment will be in the Church of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery.
Marie Teresa Muehlbauer was born on August 30, 1930, in the home of the family farm in Marysland Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry William and Margaret Armeline (Fennell) Peerboom. She was baptized on September 30, 1930, at the Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers and later confirmed there. She grew up in the Danvers area attending country school in District #60 and graduating from Holloway High School.
On June 13, 1950, Marie was united in marriage to Sylvester Robert Muehlbauer at the Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers by Father Joseph Esser. This union was blessed with over 67 years of marriage and ten children. They farmed on the home place in Marysland Township, where Marie embraced her role as a homemaker, wife, and mother.
She enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls, gardening, playing cards, flowers, and doing puzzle books. She loved to spend time with her family, especially with her many grandchildren. She was called from this life on Friday morning, October 27, 2017, at home in Westbank Township. She attained the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 27 days.
Marie is survived by her husband, Sylvester of Danvers; children: JoAnn Dokken of Appleton, Thomas Muehlbauer of Loveland, Colorado, Raymond Muehlbauer of Danvers, Timothy Muehlbauer of Clara City, Deann Muehlbauer Bennett of Newfolden, Leo Muehlbauer of Danvers, David Muehlbauer of Benson, Gloria Muehlbauer of Benson, and Kathryn Muehlbauer of Danvers; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; siblings James Peerboom, of Rochelle, Illinois, Elaine Schultz of Benson, Rosemary Bannister of Glenwood, and Anna Geyer of Benson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret Peerboom; an infant son, Michael; siblings: Bill Peerboom, John Peerboom, Margaret Ann Rudnick, and Gladys Hoberg; and her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Marie Muehlbauer.
