James “Jim” Lee Ehret, the son of James & Ella (Lang) Ehret, was born July 15, 1934 in Tyler, MN. He attained the age of 83 years, 3 months & 1 day. Jim was baptized in Tyler, MN shortly after he was born. His family moved to Elkton, South Dakota when he was a young boy. He graduated from Elkton High School in 1952. He then enlisted into the US Navy and served his country from 1953-1957. He was aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard and traveled the ocean blue and ended up in port in both Honolulu, Hawaii & Okinawa, Japan. He hitchhiked home from San Diego, CA and met many strangers along the way. He came back to Elkton to marry his bride, Beverly Ann Heesch on January 11, 1958. They lived together and loved each other for 59 years and 10 months. This union was blessed with three daughters, Susie, Kathy & Jenny and three son-in-laws that he considered his very own, Paul, Mike & Jason; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Jim started out their marriage as a lineman in Pipestone, MN and then transferred to LeMars, IA. Then he sold cookware for Miracle Maid for 11 years. After that, he took a job with American Corn Dryers. In 1975, he moved to Benson to work as a lineman for the City and then took the Superintendents role until 1990 when he retired. Jim also brought his own upholstery business to Benson which he did on the side up until this past January.

Throughout their years of raising the girls, they moved to several different places in Minnesota and made many friends along the way. Jim had a big personality and a “sales” pitch that wouldn’t end. He could buy & sell anything………at top dollar no doubt! He absolutely loved cars. Loved to buy them, fix them and sell them. He made list of all the cars he owned and we counted 52 of them!!

Most of all, Jim loved his Beverly and loved his daughters & his sons. He then found another meaning to the word “loved” - He LOVED his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the grandchildren play ball and could easily be heard on the sidelines at every event.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly…his daughters Susan (Paul) Bredeson of Willmar, Kathy (Mike) Johnson of Benson, and Jenny (Jason) Lindblad of Willmar. Grandchildren-- Zachary (Teri) Johnson of Renville MN, Megan Bredeson of Duluth MN, Brittany (David) Mugg of Crystal MN, Lisa Bredeson & special friend Trevor Larson of Willmar MN, Adam (Megan) Lindblad of Sioux Falls SD, Kaitlyn Lindblad, Madison Lindblad & special friend Esai Flores, Brooklyn Lindblad & special friend Logan Walkow, all of Willmar MN. 5 great-grandchildren—Scarlett, Gabriel & Asher Johnson, Aubri Lindblad, and Declan Lindblad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Ella Ehret, and his brothers, Robert & Charles. His in-laws, Gen Ehret, Erma Ehret, Jim & Roween Cameron, and Lyle Heesch and his granddaughter, MacKenzi Johnson.
