Visitation will continue from 1-2 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minn. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home.
Marian Elizabeth Newhouse, born March 4, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN, died peacefully September 28, 2017 in Joliet with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Survived by daughter Dawn (Jerry) McCure, sister-in-law Jan Jansen, nephew Steve Jansen, niece Julie (Andy) Kanturek and their daughters Katie and Alissa. Step grand and great grandchildren, Ginger (Rick) Mata, Nicole and Oliver, Aaron Mata, Keith McCure and many dear friends. Preceded by her husband Richard (2004), brother-in-law Harold Jansen and parents Bert and Lena Pederson. Marian worked at Little Co. of Mary and Silver Cross Hospitals, Sears and District 92 as a teacher aide/secretary. She had many hobbies: cooking/baking, entertaining, flower gardening, reading, bowling, and her favorite, traveling. She especially loved our cousins’ family trip to Norway, their Alaskan cruise trip and her many Florida trips. Marian was a very caring, compassionate person to all: family, friends, strangers, animals. She will be missed by all who knew her. As it was Marian’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to alz.org, Joliet Hospice or your favorite animal shelter. Thank you to ALL who were there for Marian during these past difficult years: family, friends, nurses, CNA’s and Joliet Hospice. She is at peace again.
