David Charles Stiel

David was born February 11th, 1966, in Benson, MN, the son of Charles and Shelda (Thielke) Stiel. David lived in Benson with family until he graduated from high school in 1984. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force serving as a crew chief working F-4s, T-37s and F-15s. David was stationed in Saudi Arabia while serving in Desert Storm. While pursuing his military career, he met and later married Denise Cervantez, and from that union they were blessed with Joshua and Courtney.  On June 1st, 1993, David was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Air Force. He didn't stop his journey there. In August 1993, he became a firefighter in various locations starting with Ft. Sheridan, Illinois until 1997. David continued his career to Ft. Eustis, VA from 1997 to 2002 and Minot Air Force Base 2002 to 2013. He met many amazing people along his journey as a firefighter whom had become a great part of his life. David was always on the move to see different parts of the country. In November of 2013 he moved to Rapid City, SD where he became an emergency room nurse at Ft. Meade VA Hospital, Sturgis, SD. He enjoyed his job not only because of the friends he met but because it was also allowing him to help lives of people that came in.In 2011 David had become a member/brother to a motorcycle club called Fire & Iron (station 216), a nationwide group that belongs to firefighters and paramedics. They would gather for BBQs, holiday parties, benefit rides for those in need and more. Riding motorcycle was just one thing that David was very passionate about besides his sports, hunting and spending time with his family and close friends.Survived by children: Josh Stiel, Minot, ND, and Courtney Stiel, New York Mills, MN; grandson, Connor Berg, Rugby, ND; siblings: Deborah (Tim) Ness, Fergus Falls, MN, Melissa (Scott) Paul, Fargo, ND, Michael Stiel, Minneapolis, MN, Dan Stiel, Benson, MN, Tim (Kari) Stiel, Minot, ND, Tony (Shana) Stiel, Hinckley, MN, Tom (Stephanie) Stiel, Fargo, ND, Chelsea Stiel (Dave Hanson), Benson, MN; and all his nieces and nephews whom he adored very much. Proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Shelda Stiel (Thielke); grandparents, Carl and Esther Thielke, Fred and Theresa Stiel. May David’s memory be blessed & never forgotten.
