Mary Ellen Noor

Mary Ellen Noor was born March 27, 1924, in Swift County near Murdock, Minnesota, the daughter of William Francis and Margaret Loretta (O’Malley) Commerford. She was baptized on April 4, 1924, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock by Father William P. Walsh and was confirmed in 1936 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father William P. Walsh. She grew up in Murdock Minnesota and attended high school there.

On June 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Everett Noor at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock by Father William P. Walsh. This union was blessed with two children and over 35 years of marriage. They made their home in Renville, Minnesota, then Benson, Minnesota, and later they moved to Lake Gilchrist where they lived for 25 years. She worked as a Nurse’s aide at the Swift County Benson Hospital for eighteen and a half years and Glenwood Retirement Home for five years. She enjoyed watching birds and wildlife and loved spending time with her family. She was called from this life on Monday morning, June 26, 2017, at the Swift County Benson Hospital. She attained the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 30 days.

She is survived by her children Mary Kaye Naig of Benson and Gary (Julie) Noor of Crystal; eleven grandchildren, Krista Hoover, Tad Naig, Jana Waldrum, John Naig, Nissa Larson, Mary Brown, Jodi Rust, Chad Noor, Nick Noor, Nicole Noor, and Travis Noor; twenty-two great-grandchildren; siblings Leona (Charles) Reynolds of Brooklyn Park and Colletta (Robert) Dahl of Murdock; special friends Pat and Sandy Duffy, Ken Hanson, and Mary Margaret McGinty, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett on December 25, 1982, significant other Clifford Hoff, parents William and Margaret, brother Thomas Commerford, a sister in infancy, and a niece DeAnne Dahl.  Blessed be her memory.?
