Dennis Richard Erdman was born on March 10, 1955 in Morris Minnesota, the son of Ambrose and Margaret (Suckow) Erdman. He grew up in rural Holloway, Minnesota and in Benson. He was baptized on April 8, 1955, at Trinity Fairfield Lutheran Church of Rural Holloway and confirmed on May 26, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. He graduated from Benson High School and then attended Vocational/Technical College in Willmar and Wadena.
He was united in marriage to Julie Ann Fostervold on July 16, 2005, at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. They made their home in rural Benson and Dennis worked for Centurylink Telephone Company. He was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, the National Rifle Association, and Ducks Unlimited. Dennis enjoyed collecting antiques and guns. He was interested in anything “old” and historic such as old farm machinery, tractors, and Indian artifacts. Dennis was called from this life on Monday evening, April 17, 2017, at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He attained the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 7 days.
Dennis is survived by his wife Julie; his brother Marlow (Pat) of Midlothian, Texas; his sister Lois (Chuck) Brandt of Clontarf; and several nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Margaret, a brother Norman, a sister Bonita Hoffman, twin brothers in infancy Herman and John, and his grandparents. Blessed be his memory.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow the service at the Benson City Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
