Ronald Harlan Monson

Ronald Harlan Monson was born April 12, 1946 in Ortonville, Minnesota, the son of Murl and Mildred (Wente) Monson.  Ron was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Odessa.  He was raised in the Ortonville and Appleton areas, graduating from the Appleton High School in 1964.  He served in the Minnesota National Guard from 1965 to 1971.  After attaining a one year accounting degree from the Canby Vo-Tech Ron moved to the Twin Cities in 1968, where he worked for Piper Jaffrey for a short time.  He was a long-time bus and shuttle-driver in the Minneapolis / St. Paul areas.  After retirement, Ron moved back to western Minnesota.  Ron enjoyed playing cards, watching TV, and spending time with his brother and friends.

Ron passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Appleton Area Health Services –Care Center.  He attained 70 years, 11 months, and 18days of age.  He is survived by cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Murl Monson and Mildred DeLong; and brother, Roger on May 8, 2016.
