A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 11:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Tom Neal Twitchell was born on May 26, 1950, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of L.F. "Teeter" and Gloria “Pat” M. Blahosky Twitchell. He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. He was married to Betty Jo and that union was blessed with three sons. They made their home in Blaine, Minnesota where Tom worked as a movie projectionist in Minneapolis.
Thomas later married Marie Halbakken on Valentine’s Day at the Minneapolis Epileptic Hospital Chapel. They moved to Willmar where Tom worked at Menard’s. Tom and Marie enjoyed spending their time together and shared many of the same interests.
Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing with gigantic bobbers, and listening to all kinds of music. Tom kept pictures of deer he had hunted and fish he had caught and was always happy to share his memories.
Tom died on Friday, March 31, at the Golden Living Center in Benson. He attained the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 5 days.
He is survived by his three sons: Neil (Terrasa Jo Stockman) Twitchell of Mora, Scott Twitchell of St. Cloud, and Leon (Amanda Polkinghorne) Twitchell of Blaine; grandchildren: Eugene, Anthony, Ethan, and Hannah; brothers: John “Jack” (Kathy) Twitchell of Rio Rancho, NM, Patrick (Betty) Twitchell of Benson, and Joe ( Elaine) Twitchell of Schaumburg, Illinois: sister, Ann (Tom) Kobbermann of Clontarf; sister-in-law, DeAnne Twitchell of Rio Rancho, NM; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. F. and Gloria “Pat” Twitchell; his wife, Marie; brothers, Chuck Twitchell and Tim Twitchell; sister, Sarah Twitchell; nephew, Ryan Twitchell; and a cousin, Randy Twitchell. Blessed be his memory.
