LuVerne Mae Schreck was born September 11, 1928 in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Alvina (Arndt) Schreck. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. LuVerne was a lifelong resident of Appleton, graduating from Appleton High School in 1946. She was a long-time employee of Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Appleton. After retiring, LuVerne volunteered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, where she was a lifetime member. LuVerne enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Nikki.
LuVerne passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Appleton Area Health Services –Care Center. She attained 88 years, 6 months, and 14 days of age. LuVerne is survived by two nieces: Sharon (Orlen) Avelsgard of Appleton and Terry Obermaier of Minnetonka; three nephews: Edwin (Trish) Bertness of San Antonio, TX, Douglas Bertness of Hopkins, and Mark (Pam) Bertness of Apple Valley; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alvina (Arndt) Schreck; siblings: Marvin Schreck and Evelyn Benham; sister-in-law, Verna Schreck; and brothers-in-law: Edwin Bertness and Eddie Benham.
