Derald Fred Rolfsmeier

Derald Fred Rolfsmeier, age 83, of Appleton died Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Appleton Area Health Services Nursing Home. Visitation will be held 10 – 11 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton with Pastor John Ramsbacher officiating. Interment will be in the Appleton City Cemetery.

Derald Fred Rolfsmeier was born June 22, 1933 in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of Ferd and Alma (Gronholz) Rolfsmeier. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from grade school in Correll, Odessa High School, and the Dunwoody Institute. On March 13, 1954, Derald was united in marriage to Arlene Cartwright at the Methodist Church in Ortonville. This union was blessed with 63 years of marriage, 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Derald farmed his lifetime on a farm by Correll. He was a member of NFO and the UHF T.V. Board. He loved to travel with Arlene and they retired to Appleton in 2012.

Derald was called from this life on Thursday, March 23, 2017. He attained 83 years, 9 months and 1 day of age.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Rolfsmeier; children: Randy (Sue) Rolfsmeier, Steve (Lori) Rolfsmeier, and Vicki (Jeff) Schmiesing; grandchildren: Celena Thorpe, Jessica Mattocks, Trisha Lehne, Mark Schmiesing, Tori Rolfsmeier, Travis Rolfsmeier, Dominic Rolfsmeier, Derek Rolfsmeier, and Amanda Redepenning; great-grandchildren: Hailey Thorpe, Austin, Ben, and Katelyn Mattocks, Kailee Torgeson, Blake Lehne, Aubrey and Cylus Schmiesing, Beckett Rolfsmeier, Trinity Linder, Kennedy, Kollyns, and Kazney Rolfsmeier, Charles and Tyler Rolfsmeier, and Ingrid Redepenning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, Robert (Ruth) Petrick; and half-sister, Dorothy (William) Petrick Knowles.
