Warren Wallace Schlieman

Warren Wallace Schlieman was born January 29, 1930 in Fairfield Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Alma (Rohloff) Schlieman.  He was baptized February 23, 1930 and confirmed April 30, 1944 at Fairfield Trinity Lutheran Church.  He grew up in Fairfield Township and Holloway area.  Warren served in the United States Army during the Korean War from November 15, 1951 to November 3, 1953.  After serving his country, he returned to farming.  On September 15, 1956, Warren was united in marriage to Selma Lien at the Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church in Louisburg.  This union was blessed with 23 years of marriage, 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Warren always enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, farming hunting, fishing, trapping, and golfing.  He was called from this life on Saturday, March 11, 2017.  He attained 87 years, 1 month and 13 days of age.

Warren is survived by his children: Marilyn Karsten of Hutchinson, Rodney (Trudy) Schlieman of Holloway, Laurie (Kevin) Giese of Hancock, and Tammy (Beto) Ramon of Spicer; 12 grandchildren: Cathy (Quint) Precht, Christopher (Jacquelyn) Karsten, Ben (Kelsey) Schlieman, Lauren (Brandon) Nelson, Kara Schlieman, Nathan (Heather) Giese, Nicholas (Ashley) Giese, Alyssa (Jake) Trew, Joshua (fiancé Jenny) Ramon, Megan Ramon, Katie (Nikola) Nikolic, and Leah Ramon; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Valora Greseth of Appleton; brothers: Elmer (Audrey) Schliemann of Appleton and Harold (LaVonne) Schlieman of Morris; brothers-in-law: Iver (Dorla) Lien, Harvey Weber, Roger (Marlys) Lien, and Harry Lien; and sister-in-law, Gladys Labraaten.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma Schlieman on October 12, 1979; parents, Frank and Alma Schlieman; brothers, Harvey Schlieman and Edgar Schlieman; sister, Marlys Greseth; brothers-in-law: Palmer Greseth, Verdie Greseth, and Arnold Labraaten; and sisters-in-law: Lois Schlieman, Corrine Weber, and Colleen Lien.
