Myron F. Koosmann

Myron Fredrick Koosmann was born June 10, 1927 at home to Fredrick Paul and Dorothea Lauretta (Riba) Koosman.  He was baptized in 1927 and confirmed in 1941 in the Lutheran Faith at the Moyer Church.  Myron grew up on farms near Danvers and Holloway and attended country school District 60.  On June 25, 1949, Myron was united in marriage to Elenore Schroeder at the Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton by Rev. Gerald W. Garled.  This union was blessed with more than 67 years of marriage.  They lived 6 miles north of Danvers until 1961 and then moved 5 miles northwest of Madison where they farmed the land until 1987 when they retired to Appleton.

Myron belonged to the Minnesota Valley Breeders Association, was a past member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, was a former Board Member at Faith Lutheran and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton.  His interests included playing cards and pool, fishing, and gardening.  Myron passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in the Appleton Area Health Services Hospital.  He attained 89 years, 4 months, and 16 days of age.

Myron is survived by his wife Elenore of Appleton; children: Gene (Mary) Koosmann of Madison, Gary Koosmann of Marshall, and Janet Koosmann of Rochester Hills, MI; 7 grandchildren: Shanon (Alan) Hoffman, Jill (Chuck) Nelson, Jason (Tami) Koosmann, Allen (Tara) Koosmann, Brian (Michelle) Stien, Dennis (Samantha) Koosmann, and Bradley Koosmann; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings: Doris (Roger) Moen of Mesa, AZ and Marvin (Kay) Koosman of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Clarice Schroeder of Appleton and Wanda Schroeder of LA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothea Koosman; sister, Marlys Longnecker; brother, Dennis Koosman; and granddaughter-in-law, Noelle Koosmann.
