Loren Ross Larson, age 55, was born on October 5, 1960, in Glenwood, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Laura Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Scandi Lutheran Church in rural Glenwood and grew up northeast of Swift Falls in the Scandi Lake area. He graduated from Brooten High School in 1979 and from the University of Phoenix in 2003, with an online degree in business management.
Loren worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a foreman for the past 36 years. He had a passion for flying, with over 20 years of experience. He served on the Kerkhoven Rescue Squad for 10 years. Loren enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing, and loved to spend time with his nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was called from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2016, the result of an airplane accident in La Crosse County, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his mother, Laura Larson of Kerkhoven; a brother, Lynn (Shellie) Larson of DeGraff; a nephew, Chris (Laura) Larson; his niece, Shawna Larson; great-nieces and great-nephews: Jenna, Jill, and Luke Hoefer, and Blake and Lane Larson; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Larson. Blessed be his memory.
