Bonnie Mae (Gereaux) Guest, age 81, of Benson, Minnesota, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Gabriel House in Murdock, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ.
Bonnie Mae (Gereaux) Guest was born May 8th, 1935 at Doland, South Dakota to Floyd and Marion (Hofma) Gereaux. Bonnie was baptized at Doland Methodist Church. She was raised on the family farm and attended first grade at a country school before finishing school at Doland Public Schools. She graduated from Doland High School in 1953, achieving the honor of Valedictorian.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert W. Cook at Webster, South Dakota on June 30th, 1953. This union was blessed with three sons. Robert W. Cook passed away on April 5th, 1961.
Bonnie married Richard E. Guest on July 18th, 1964 at the Methodist Church in Clark, South Dakota by Reverend Kenneth Voas. The family moved from Clark, South Dakota to Benson. One son was born to this union. Richard E. Guest passed away on October 23rd, 1983.
Bonnie worked part time for Minnegasco in Benson for 10 years. Richard and Bonnie moved to Brady, Montana before returning to Benson. On July 24th, 1984, following the death of Richard Guest, Bonnie started work at Bonanza Valley Aviation and continued working there when the company became Benson Air Ag in 1998. Bonnie completed her 30th year of work there in 2014. She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1403. She enjoyed working, helping in the church basement, time spent with family, crossword puzzles, and cooking family meals.
Bonnie is survived by four sons, Robert W. Cook Jr., Douglas A. Cook, Richard H. (Valerie) Cook, and Jeffrey (Teresa) Guest, all of Benson; one sister, Carol (Gerry) Fandrich of Bismarck, North Dakota; and two brothers, Larry Gereaux of Doland, South Dakota, and Robert (Elaine) Gereaux of Yankton, South Dakota.
Eight grandchildren: Tracey (Albert) Natriello of Debary, Florida, Joshua (Kelly) Cook of Park Rapids, MN, Jacob (Jill) Cook of Benson, Jonathan (Melissa) Cook, United States Army stationed in Phoenix, Arizona, Jerica Cook of Benson, Evan Guest of Benson, Tyler (Michelle) Guest of Silver Lake, and Brook Guest of Alexandria.
Five great-granddaughters: Nikki and Ashley Natriello, Adrienne Cook, Scarlett Guest, and Isabelle Cook. Seven great-grandsons: Elijah Cook, Jordan and Jakobe Cook, Cooper Cook, Isaac Cook, Charlie Guest, and Zachary Nemitz.
Two sisters-in-law, Shirley Kamler and Darlene Hoffman; along with two brothers-in-law, George Guest and Elliot Kamler; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by both husbands; her grandparents and parents; two brothers, David and Delvin Gereaux; three sisters, Delores Jones, Patricia Baily and Beverly (Pete) Kritz; four nephews: Timothy Jon Herman, Michael Jones, Joey Guest Sr., and David Hoffman; and a niece, Cheryl Roop.
