Olof Leverne Olson, age 99, of Benson, formerly of Murdock, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Homestead Place North in Benson, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 10, 2016 with visitation for one hour prior at Bethesda Lutheran Church in rural Murdock.
Olof Leverne Olson was born on October 19, 1916 on the family farm north of Murdock, Minnesota, the son of Olaf and Anna (Anderson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church. He grew up on the farm north of Murdock and attended Frank Lake Township Grade School and graduated from Murdock High School.
Leverne lived his entire life on the family farm, which was homesteaded by his father Olaf. After his mother’s passing, he continued farming and taking care of his father until his passing in 1973. Leverne farmed the land until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the Farmer’s Union of Murdock. He enjoyed hunting and working. Leverne was called from this life on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Homestead Place North in Benson. He attained the age of 99 years, 4 months, and 5 days.
Leverne is survived by his nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Anna Olson; a brother, Earl (Dorothy) Olson; and a sister, Miriam (Harvey) Swenson. Blessed be his memory.
