Norma Fox

Norma Jane Fox was born July 21, 1930 in Walnut Grove, Minnesota to Elmer E.  and Martha Eugenia (Anderson) Converse.  She graduated from Walnut Grove High School.  Norma was united in marriage to Lloyd Walter Fox in 1948, and was blessed with 57 years of marriage.  Lloyd died in 2005.  God blessed this marriage with 3 children:  John Lloyd, Nancy Ann, and Joe Edward.  In 1957, she and Lloyd moved from southern MN to a farm north of Appleton, MN.  She lived there until her death on April 24, 2016.  She was 85 years old.

Norma worked hard all her life.  Although she had never cooked before her marriage, with her mother-in-law’s tutelage and her own persistence she became a renowned cook in the area.  For many years, she assisted her son, Joe with his successful catering business that served clients as far away as the cities, but normally had customers in the Swift County area.  She was a master gardener. Norma and Lloyd founded the Hegbert Winners 4-H club and saw to it that it succeeded.

Norma enjoyed family holidays at her farm, and loved to cook and share with family and friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed.

Norma is survived by her children: John (Susan) Fox of Stockholm, SD, Nancy (Roger) Pederson of Glenwood, MN, and Joe Fox of Appleton, MN; grandchildren: Eric (Kristin) Fox (Watertown, SD), Jarett (Sheila) Fox (Watertown, SD), Trisha (Christopher) Pederson (Minneapolis, MN), Toni (Erik) Knutson (Rosemont, MN), and Justin (Jacqueline) Pederson (Lenexa, KS); great-grandchildren: Aiden and Jude Fox (Watertown, SD); two sisters:  Janet Mae Jensen of OR and Lois Ann Rolland of CA; brother-in-law, Russell Fox of Westcliffe, CO; and by many nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Walter Fox; parents Elmer and Martha Converse; sisters: Kathleen Bott, Mildred Sorenson, Golda Jean Gulickson; and sister-in-law Marjorie Gainder.
