Paul Michael Diederich

Paul M. Diederich, age 59, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Golden Living Center – Meadow Lane in Benson, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2016 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson with Father Jeremy Kucera officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 1:30 PM in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in DeGraff.

Paul Michael Diederich was born February 12, 1957 in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Cletus Matthew and Doris Louise (Matter) Diederich. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church and graduated from St. Francis Catholic Grade School and Benson High School. On August 15, 1979, Paul was married to Dawn (Hoiland) Pennie at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. This union was blessed with two sons, Michael and Ryan. Paul served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1983 at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri; Wiesbaden, Germany; and Fort Lewis in Washington. After completing his military service, he moved back to Benson and worked at Pepsi Bottling Works, Trade Homes, Minor Drywall, Hanson Silo, Tyler, and Case. Paul enjoyed reading, working on cars, giving people a “hard time” with his humor, and camping.

He passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Golden Living Center – Meadow Lane. Paul attained 59 years, 2 months, and 9 days of age.

He is survived by his sons: Michael (Megan) Diederich of Minneapolis, and Ryan Diederich of Benson; grandchildren: Natalia, Madeline, and Benjamin; siblings: Margo (Rudy) Diederich-Lee of Minneapolis, Jean Diederich of Minneapolis, Patricia (Arvel) Diederich-Watkins of Benson, and Mary Diederich of Windom; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Doris Diederich; brother, Joseph Diederich; and sister, Lucille Diederich.
