Myrtle L. Holzheimer was born on November 8, 1925 in Pope County, Minnesota, the daughter of Luther and Mabel (Lee) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and grew up in rural Swift Falls on the family farm. She attended country school in Swift County and graduated from Benson High School in 1943.
On November 23, 1946, Myrtle was united in marriage to Edgar W. Holzheimer at Rolling Forks Church. They lived in Benson and over the years Myrtle worked at Swift County Bank, J.C. Penny’s and Agralite Co-Op. Myrtle was a member of the Swift County Historical Society and Sons of Norway. She was involved in many church activities, taught Sunday school, assisted with the church newsletter, and was an active member with L.W.M.L. Myrtle enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and gardening. She was called from this life on April 2, 2016 at her son’s home in Oostburg, Wisconsin under Hospice care. She attained 90 years, 4 months and 24 days of age.
Myrtle is survived by her children: Allen (Bonnie) Holzheimer of Oostburg, WI, Kaye (James) Jankowsky of St. Cloud, MN, Arden (Rhonda) Holzheimer of St. Cloud, MN, and Arlen (Ceil) Holzheimer of Rockville, MN; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and brother, Ronald (Alta) Larson of Benson, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mabel Larson; husband, Edgar Holzheimer in 1978; and grandson, Aaron Holzheimer.
