Louise Clara Lachmiller

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service.
Louise (Ludovica) Clara Lachmiller was born December 17, 1927 in Edison Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis (Ludovicus) and Teresa (Rudnick) Glisky. She was baptized on December 24, 1927 by Rev. S. Julkowski and confirmed at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers. Louise grew up in the Holloway, Appleton, and Edison Township area. She then moved to Danvers and attended Benson High School, graduating in 1945.
After graduating, Louise worked in Minneapolis at an insurance company and met many new people who remained lifelong friends. On July 24, 1948, Louise married James Gallagher of Danvers, MN. They returned to the Benson–Danvers area. This marriage was blessed with two children but the marriage ended in 1963. Louise worked for many years as the Office Manager and Head Bookkeeper at the Benson Produce Company. She also enjoyed working some evenings at the Clontarf Liquor Store.
On November 23, 1968, Louise was united in marriage to Keith Lachmiller. After leaving the Benson Produce Company, Louise worked as the Head Bookkeeper for the Benson School Dist. #777 until her retirement in 1990. She cared for her brother, Ronald Waldowski, who was born with Down Syndrome and served on the Board for the Swift County Home. She was fiercely independent. Louise was able to spend several winter holidays in Florida. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, cruising, seeing friends and family, especially her children.
Louise passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 after spending five days at Gabriel House Assisted Living. She attained 88 years, 3 months, and 7 days of age.
Louise is survived by her children: Janice Gallagher (Nelson Dela Vega) of Pembroke Pines, FL and Benson, MN, and Charles (Darlene) Gallagher of Port Charlotte, FL; brothers: Albert (Beverly) Glisky of St. Paul, MN, Robert (Janet) Waldowski of Eagan, MN, and Eugene (Lois) Waldowski of Ramsey, MN; sister, Dorothy Manke of Roseville, MN; granddaughters: Lisa (Brent) Boston of New Ulm, MN, Kathleen Rostad of Fleischmann, NY, and Christina Rostad of Orlando, FL; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Lachmiller on June 12, 1994; parents, Louis and Teresa Glisky; and brothers, Richard Waldowski and Ronald Waldowski.
