Frances "Fran" Pauline Jensen

Frances Pauline Jensen was born January 24, 1937, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Ferdinand and Ida (Carlson) Johnson. She was baptized April 18, 1937, Rev. Arthur Chell and was confirmed July 29, 1951 by Rev. J. Swedeberg, both at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Fran was raised in the Benson area, graduating from Benson High School in 1955.

On July 5, 1958 Fran was united in marriage to Dwight Eugene Jensen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. This union was blessed with over 40 years together and eight children: Bradley, Bruce, Brian, Sheila, Brent, Julie, Kevin and baby girl Jensen, who died in infancy. Over the years Fran worked with Dwight on their farm near Holloway, worked as a secretary for the Benson School District, was a teacher’s aide at the Appleton Public School, and also worked at the Benson Laundromat. Fran was a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday school, and belonged to the Over 50’s Club and the Homemaker’s Club. She enjoyed embroidering, baking and cooking, music, and playing piano. Fran looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Fran passed away on March 11, 2016 in Appleton Area Health Services –Care Center. She attained 79 years, 1 month, and 18 days of age. She is survived by her children: Bradley Jensen of Little Falls, Bruce (Sandy) Jensen of Baxter, Brian (Jill) Jensen of Foley, Sheila Jensen of Appleton, Brent (Gina) Jensen of Shakopee, Julie Jensen of Holloway, and Kevin (Elise) Jensen of Baxter; 14 grandchildren: Tyler and Travis Jensen, Haley, Michaela, Henry, and Sam Jensen, Lindsey, Gabrielle, Alexa, and Adam Jensen, Ashley Jensen, Reece David, Bradley Richgels, and Stacey Ley; sisters: Gladys Kliche of Vancouver, WA, Florence Beckey of Lady Lake, FL, and Ruthy Miller of Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Jensen in 1999; daughter, baby girl Jensen; parents, Ferdinand and Ida Johnson; brothers: Bueford (Gene) and Vernon Johnson; sisters: Margaret Johanson, Rosalie Lucking, Mae Bennett, Lillian Grussing, and Marion Rice.
