Darold Roggeman

Darold E. Roggeman, age 87, died at the Swift County Benson Hospital on Monday, February 8, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Darold Eugene Roggeman was born on June 24, 1928 in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, the son of Michael and Dorothy (Picht) Roggeman. He grew up and attended school in Walnut Grove. On June 10, 1947, Darold was united in marriage to Gertrude Lehnhoff. This union was blessed with over 38 years of marriage. They farmed in the Hanley Falls area until 1952 and then moved to the Clontarf area where they continued to farm. In 1963, they sold the farm and moved to Benson. He worked at the Amundson Rambler Garage and for the Swift County Co-Op. After retirement at the age of 62, he spent the winters in Arizona. Darold enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, golfing, and playing cards. He was called from this life on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Swift County Benson Hospital.

Darold is survived by his son, Eugene (Gayle) Roggeman, of Woodbury; daughter, Julie (Chuck) Collins of New London; grandchildren: Chad (Paula) Roggeman, Sara (Matthew) Whitesitt, Eric (Becky) Roggeman, Keith (Tiffany) Collins, Laura (Jarrod) Beasley, Melanie (Mike) Wirth, and Anita (Kevin) Jackson; great-grandchildren: Emma Roggeman, Anna Roggeman, Andrew Roggeman, Ella Roggeman, Peyton Whitesitt, Lilly Whitesitt, Aaron Collins, Caleb Collins, Grace Collins, Ty Beasley, Reagan Beasley, Isaac Wirth, Izzy Wirth, Andre Jackson, and Terrell Jackson; and a sister, Arleen Knoblauch of Tracy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude on March 16, 1985; his parents, Michael and Dorothy; a brother, Marvin Roggeman; a sister-in-law, Marion Roggeman; and a brother-in-law, Paul Knoblauch. Blessed be the memory of Darold E. Roggeman.
