Margaret was born in Gilman, Minnesota on January 30, 1922, the daughter of William and Mary (Kuffel) Zawacki. She was baptized by Father Vincent Wotzka and later confirmed at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Margaret grew up on a farm outside of Gilman and attended Catholic Parochial School up to the 8th grade.
Margaret (Margie) was the oldest of her 6 sisters and enjoyed taking care of her family and relatives who lived nearby. She loved life on the farm, but in 1941 she moved with her sister Lucille to Minneapolis and began working at Franklin Manufacturing Company. She worked there for seven years. She then worked as a head supervisor on the assembly line for Honeywell for 35 years until her retirement in 1984. During this time, she lived with her sister Lucille, her mother Mary, good friend Gib and helped care for Gib’s son Jerry Little.
Margaret was a long time member of St. Anne / St. Joseph-Hein Catholic Church in Minneapolis and belonged to the Honeybells and Ladies of St. Anne Mission group. She was a member of the Saint Therese Auxiliary and Heritage Society in New Hope and enjoyed volunteering there for many years. She also found her work with Brother DePaul – Mission of Mercy, very fulfilling and made many of her closest friends through her numerous years of volunteer service.
Margie enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, traveling, and doing puzzles. Her best times, however, were spent with her sisters and family of nieces and nephews celebrating many milestones and special occasions. She also loved helping out at her church events and socials, going to weekly mass, and having coffee at McDonalds with the gang afterward.
Margaret is survived by her sisters, Arleen Moulzolf of Montevideo and Audrey Feddema (Harvey) Woods of St. Cloud; 21 very special nieces and nephews: Judith (Bruce) Goenner, Edith Fritz, Chuck (Mila) Moulzolf, Patrick Moulzolf, Deb (Steve) Hofmann, Jennifer (Bob) Jacobson, Marvin Zawacki, Roberta Bybee, Mary Terese (Donard) Kunesh, Cindy (Don) Kunkel, Tim (Shelley) Feddema, Mary Kay (Don) Magstadt, Julie (Greg) Zniewski, Brian Zawacki, Dawn Wallum, Jeff (Cari) Feddema, Sue (Mike) Feldhege, Jeanne Bielejeski (Shane) Wester, Sheila (Tom) Chamberland, Kathy (Terry) Ergen, and Heidi (John) Ruth; nephew-in-law, Jaime Hoff; 50 great-nieces and nephews; and 33 great-great-nieces and nephews.
