Janice Corrine (Lund) Holman was born June 25, 1943 in Madison, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Cora (Tofte) Lund. Jan was baptized and confirmed at Minnesota Valley Lutheran Church, rural Louisburg. She attended school in Appleton, where she graduated in 1961. On July 26, 1969, Jan was united in marriage to Gary Holman. This union was blessed with three children: Lisle, Tara, and Glen. This marriage dissolved in 1978.
Jan loved music and enjoyed playing piano and singing in her younger years. She also loved to learn, write and read. This was demonstrated by the fact that she went to college as an adult to earn both an Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. In the mid 1990’s Jan moved to Arizona, for health reasons. She worked as a substitute teacher and as a reporter in the Quartzsite, AZ area for a time. Jan was a member of the Covenant Church in Quartzsite, where up to a few years ago she enjoyed playing the organ. Volunteering was in her blood, Jan was known to be a frequent “helper” at school when her children were younger. She was proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jan was especially thankful to be able to reconnect with her first-born, Tim, and be a part of his family.
Jan passed away on December 3, 2015 in Glendale Arizona. She attained 72 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age. She is survived by her children: Tim (Sonia) Boche of Farmington, Lisle Holman Emerson of Menifee, CA, Tara (Bryon Nelson) Coffman of Brainerd, Glen Holman of Brainerd; 14 grandchildren: Emily and Karryn Boche, Rian Holman, Jessica and Ranelle Emerson, Steven and Kate Coffman, Paige, Nathan, and Jace Nelson, Austin, Shannon, Damean Holman, Gabriella Holman; 4 great-grandchildren: Michael Fleetwood, Alexander and Ashlyn Holman, and Terra Emerson Verdugo; brother, David (Antje) Lund of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, LaVonne Lund of Becker; numerous other relatives and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cora Lund; grandson, Jacob Holman, brother, Dennis Lund, nephew, Daniel Lund.
