Nicholas "Nick" Zane Larson, age 28, of Benson, Minnesota, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Minneapolis VA Health Care Systems Hospital. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Evangelical Free Church in Benson. Visitation will be held 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Zniewski Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Nicholas "Nick" Zane Larson was born January 2, 1987, in Anoka, Minnesota, the son of Randall "Randy" M. Larson and Dori R. Lagred. He was baptized at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church by Rev. John Smith and grew up on the Larson family farm in Swenoda Township, Swift County. Nick attended school in Benson, Minnesota and graduated from Hudson High School in Wisconsin. Nick served his country in the Minnesota Army Reserves and was deployed overseas during the Iraq War in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2010 to 2011. He resided on the family farm and worked for several dairy farmers in the area. Nick enjoyed fishing, farming, taking care of his kittens, and watching movies. Nick passed away October 12, 2015 at the Minneapolis V. A. Health Care Systems Hospital after a battle with Lymphoma. He attained the age of 28 years, 10 months, and 10 days. Nick passed on Grandma Irene's birthday and his family finds great comfort in knowing that he is home with her. Nick will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Dori (Paul) Thell of North St. Paul, MN; father, Randy Larson of Benson, MN; grandmother, Frances Haverly of Eyota, MN; siblings: Barry Larson of Dresser, WI; Jeffery Larson of River Falls, WI; Amanda Lagred of Rice Lake, WI; and Kayla Lagred of Coon Rapids, MN; niece, Carrine; nephews, Kaden and Jace; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, family and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene and Red Larson; grandfather, Edward D. Lagred; and Uncle, Keith Larson.
