Eunice Mae Wilts was born on June 25, 1939 in Appleton, the daughter of Bernard Frederick and Edna Margaret Alpress Swenson. She was baptized on December 1, 1939 by the Rev. K. M. Holmberg and confirmed on March 29, 1953 by the Rev. A. Edward Peterson at the Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel Church in Ortonville, Minnesota. Due to the early death of her mother, she lived with her Uncle Orrin and Aunt Susie Anderson, in Akron Township, Big Stone County, Minnesota. She attended rural grade school near Ortonville and graduated from Ortonville High School in 1957. On May 30, 1957, Eunice was united in marriage to Donald Anthony Wilts at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Appleton, Minnesota by the Rev. Paul Abner Gustafson. This union was blessed with three children and over 58 years of marriage. They moved to a farm in Artichoke Township after Don returned from the service and then moved to Benson in December of 1959. Eunice worked at Red Owl and the ASCS office in Ortonville and then at the Swift County Register of Deeds Office until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson, WELCA, Sarah Circle, participated in Quilting, directed the Cherub Choir, and sang in the Church Choir. She enjoyed reading, watching baseball, football, baking, and talking on the phone. She loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren and attending their activities. Eunice was called from this life on Thursday morning, October 8, 2015, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota. She attained the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 13 days of age. She is survived by her husband Don of Benson; three children: Janet (Jon) Ohmacht of Glenwood, Julie (Bruce) Larson of Glenwood, and Timothy (Leah) Wilts of Alexandria; eight grandchildren: Tony (Missi) Ohmacht, Monica (Jason) Olson, Daniel (Heather) Ohmacht, Thomas Ohmacht, Darcie (Jesse) Mathwig, Ben (Bethany) Larson, Spencer (Jessica) Wilts, and Katie (Josh) Hedstrom; eleven great-grandchildren: Bria and Ayden Ohmacht, Gavin, Carson and Macoy Olson, Blaine, Piper and Grady Mathwig, Rylie and Allie Larson, and Jack Wilts; siblings: Eldred Swenson, Lyle Swenson, Kenneth Swenson, Rick Swenson, Julie Anderson, Terry Swenson, Gwenneth Swenson, Randy Swenson, Brenda Graw, and Carmen Swenson. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Edna Swenson; Carol A. Swenson; Orrin and Susie Anderson; sisters Jeronica Ann Swenson and Carol Swenson, and brothers Orrin Anderson and Royal Anderson.
