Kathryn (Kitty) R Krogsrud

August 5, 1950 — September 9, 2015

Kathryn "Kitty" Rae Krogsrud was born August 5, 1950, in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Yackley) Telford. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Kitty was raised in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1968. After graduation, Kitty attended Mankato State University, where she attained a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. On July 21, 1974 Kitty was united in marriage to Ronald Krogsrud. This union was blessed with 41 years of marriage and three children: Gregory, Johanna, and Marcus. Kitty worked as a paraprofessional within the Appleton and Lac qui Parle Valley School District for over 25 years. She truly loved her job, especially being able to help children learn. Kitty was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Appleton Golf Club and the Appleton Sportsman's Club. She enjoyed being active in her community. Playing cards and word games, going on rides, traveling and exploring, swimming, crafting, watching movies, and cooking are a few of Kitty's favorite pastimes. Above all, Kitty loved her family and friends. She was happiest when spending time with those she loved and cared about. Kitty will be remembered for her many smiles, her quick wit, and lots and lots of laughs. Kitty died Wednesday, September 9th, in her home. She attained 65 years, 1 month and 4 days of age. She is survived by her husband, Ron, of Appleton; children: Gregory (Angela) Krogsrud of Appleton, Johanna Krogsrud of Shakopee, and Marcus Krogsrud of Correll; sister, Jackie (Tom) Brooks of Carlsbad, CA; brother, Dave (Bea) Telford of Appleton; aunts: Pat (Telford) Weber of Springfield, OR and Margaret (Yackley) Zanke of Coon Rapids; brother-in-law, Stanley Krogsrud of Ortonville; sisters-in-law: Linda Krogsrud of Ortonville, Linda (James) Schlieman of Holloway, Barb (Paul) Maas of Odessa; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Telford; nephews: Michael Sletten, Scott Krogsrud (wife, Cathy Jo Krogsrud), and infant Curtis Krogsrud.
