Dale Leo Klassen, age 70, was born on July 6, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of John and Adeline Goulet Klassen. He grew up in Minneapolis, Montevideo, and DeGraff. He attended country school in DeGraff and Montevideo and graduated from Benson High School with the class of 1963, and later completed trade school. On December 26, 1970, Dale was united in marriage to Kathy Hartzburg in Watertown, South Dakota. Together they were able to share in over forty four years of marriage. They lived in the DeGraff area and Dale worked at Holiday, Willmar Manufacturing, Nelson International, and Lee Elevator. He owned and operated Klassen Repair and Welding for 37 years. He was a member of the DeGraff Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, playing cards, and he loved to spend time with his grandkids. Dale was called from this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Dale is survived by his wife Kathy; his children: Chris (Jane) Klassen of Nashville, Tennessee, Stephanie (John) Meierhofer of Naples, Florida, Janae (Brad) Turner of Overland Park, Kansas, Serena (Wayne) Vergin of Benson, Robert "B.J." (Nathalie) Klassen of Clara City, Jonathon (Jenny) Klassen of Glenwood, Mark Klassen of Benson, and Lori Klassen of DeGraff; 16 grandchildren: Max, Spencer, and Ryan Klassen, Travis and Jordan Meierhofer, Keanna Turner and Blair Nall, Megan, Olivia, and Devin Vergin, Tyler, Andrew, and Chase Klassen, and Sydney and Dylann Klassen; a sister Donna (Joe) Fath of Benson; and a brother Tom Klassen of Los Angeles, California. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Adeline, daughters Mary Beth and Angie, and a brother Leonard.
