Harry Albert Stock was born August 5, 1924, in Moyer Township, the son of Walter Ferdinand and Helen Louise (Zager) Stock. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township. Harry was raised in the Appleton and Holloway communities and attended country school in Shible Township through the eighth grade. He was drafted into the Navy in 1944 and served on the USS Pasadena during WWII through 1946. On June 10, 1948, Harry was united in marriage to Betty Yvonne Bryan at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shible Township by Rev. Gierke. This union was blessed with 66 years of marriage and three children: Yvonne, LuAnn, and Lee. He and Betty farmed in Moyer Township until his retirement in 1988. After retirement, Harry and Betty made their home in Appleton. Harry was a Lifetime Member and Past Commander of the Appleton VFW Post 4955. He was also a long-serving member of the Moyer Township Board. Harry enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his "Holloway" friends. Harry died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Appleton Area Health Services -Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Appleton; children: Yvonne (Cary) Schmidt of Richfield, LuAnn (Mark) Parrish of New Prague, Lee (Jackie) Stock of Little Falls; 4 granddaughters: Sarah (Rolando) Schmidt-de Carranza, Kate Schmidt, Kayla Stock, and Kalley Stock; sisters: Bernice Van Winkle of Appleton and Irene Johnson of Prior Lake; brother, Walter Stock of Prior Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Stock; brother, Henry Stock; and sister, Vera Rohloff.
