Amie Arlene Holm, 85, was born on March 15, 1930, in Jamestown Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, the daughter of Rennie and Emma Hanson Slaughter. She was confirmed at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. She grew up in Swift Falls and attended country school through the 8th grade. On June 3, 1949, Amie was united in marriage to Lawrence G. "Slim" Holm in Swift Falls. Together, they were able to share in over 58 years of marriage. They made their home in Benson where Amie was a homemaker, raising nine children. She was a member of TOPS in Benson. She enjoyed embroidery, making doll clothes, playing cards and board games, gardening, walking, listening to Elvis' music, and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was called from this life on May 17, 2015, at the Appleton Area Care Center. She is survived by her nine children: Larry Holm of Fergus Falls, Mary (Rick) Dallaire of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Robert (Lauren) Holm of Willmar, Donna Holm, Mike Holm, Emma (Timothy) Newton, and Garfield Holm all of Benson, Connie Holm of Willmar, and Joseph Holm of Benson; 17 grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Palmer (Marcia) Slaughter of Benson; one brother-in-law, Wilfred Holm of Swift Falls; and a sister-in-law, Blanche Slaughter. Amie was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 2007; her parents, Rennie and Emma Slaughter; a grandson, Jade Holm; and 10 siblings: Hazel (Onken) Anderson, Edward Slaughter, Harlen Slaughter, Millie Zecker, Florence Yates, Willard Slaughter, Lorraine Pillatzki, Leona Brekkan, Hank Slaughter, and Leonard Slaughter.
