Margaret (Aust) Wersinger was born March 18, 1920, in Oyens, Iowa, the daughter of Theresa (Weynandt) and Nick Aust. She was baptized on May 2, 1920 by Father Ralfus. Margaret grew up on a farm in Oyens, Iowa and attended St. Catherine School. On November 17, 1938, Margaret was united in marriage to Lawrence Wersinger at Morningside Catholic Church in Sioux City Iowa. This union was blessed with more than 47 years of marriage, 5 children, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was a wonderful homemaker and also worked at a pie factory. She served with the Altar and Rosary Society at the Church of Visitation in Danvers. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, watching birds, and spending time with her family. Margaret passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Swift County Benson Hospital. She attained the age of 95 years, 1 month, and 26 days. Margaret is survived by her children: Lavonne Lee of Minneapolis, Donna (Ron) Ascheman of Benson, Wayne (Rita) Wersinger of Danvers, Jerry (Connie) Wersinger of Benson, and Steve (Cindy) Wersinger of Danvers; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Frances Gettner of Remsen, IA, and Jackie Wersinger of Spencer, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Wersinger on April 21, 1986; grandson, Thomas Lee; son-in-law, Arthur Lee; parents, Nick and Theresa Aust; siblings: Elizabeth (Leo) Schroeder, Catherine Aust, Peter (Bertha) Aust, William (Teresa) Aust, and Mary (Jack) Dunn.
