Pearl Irene Schliep was born on May 30, 1921 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Emmett and Matilda (Jaeger) Logan. Pearl was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1939. On September 18, 1940, Pearl was united in marriage to John Gilronan at St. Francis in Benson. This union was blessed with over 22 years of marriage and two daughters. On December 13, 1968, Pearl was united in marriage to John Schliep at the Visitation Catholic Church in Danvers. Together they shared in over 36 years of marriage. She worked at JC Penney's, Wigfield's, and the Clontarf Café. She enjoyed watching tennis and the Twins and loved to attend her grandchildren's wrestling matches and ball games. Pearl was a people person. She especially loved playing cards and could never get enough. Pearl was called from this life on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Golden Living Center-Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson. She attained the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 27 days. She is survived by her daughter Barb (Ron) Larson of Benson; 5 grandchildren: Doug Young, Tom Young, Wade (Nissa) Larson, Greg (Amy) Larson, Kate (Dave) Perez,; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Helen Klucas of Benson, Gladys (Michael) Ascheman of Lonsdale, Marcella (Frank) Razink of Benson, Phyllis Harstad of Benson, Lucille Reuss of Benson, Evelyn Oglesby of Cannon Falls, and JoAnn (Ward) Fennell of New Ulm; son-in-law, Donald (LuElla) Young of Benson; brother-in-law, Melvin (Ruth) Schliep of Hopkins; Katherine "Trink" Gilronan of Alexandria; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Matilda; her two husbands, John Gilronan in 1962, and John Schliep in 2005; one daughter, Jackie Young in 1992; a grandson, Paul Young in 1984; a sister, Marcella Tiffany; and a brother, Vern Logan, his wife, Lou Anne, and their son, Scott.
