Audrey Ann Arneson was born on September 10, 1942, in Delano, Minnesota, the daughter of Martha (Albright) Kahlhamer and Edwin Kahlhamer. She was baptized, made her First Communion on June 25th, 1950 and was later confirmed on July 6th, 1952 at St. John's Catholic Church in Appleton MN. She grew up in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School in 1960. In high school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Future Homemakers of America, Girls Athletic Association, and church youth groups. She also worked as a carhop. On November 12, 1960, Audrey was united in marriage to Terrence "Terry" Arneson at St. John's Catholic Church in Appleton. Together they were able to share in 51 years of marriage. This union was blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. After they married, the couple lived in Minneapolis where Audrey worked various clerical and receptionist jobs while raising a young family. In 1969, the family moved to Benson and in 1970 Audrey started working in the office of Tylers Manufacturing now Case New Holland. She worked there nearly 30 years, before retiring in 1999 after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma and undergoing a successful stem-cell transplant at the University of Minnesota. She was a long time member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she taught religious education classes. Audrey and Terry were foster parents and they also hosted many foreign exchange students and business associates. In her younger years, when Audrey wasn't busy being a working mom and homemaker, she enjoyed vacations, spending time with family and watching her children's sporting events. She took great pride and enjoyment from her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. When Audrey retired she continued volunteering and pursued her hobbies of sewing and crafts. She also began an extensive search and recording of family genealogy that lasted over a decade. In her later years she continued to enjoy traveling and her last adventure was a Catholic mission trip to Guatemala. Audrey was called from this life on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope with her children around her. She attained the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 25 days. Audrey is survived by her two sons, Philip Arneson of Fridley, Jon Arneson of New Hope; one daughter Lisa (John) O'Neil of Golden Valley; grandchildren, Maggie, Grace, and Riley O'Neil, Max and Mason Arneson; several nephews; and many other in-laws and relatives. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Terry; her sister Lucille Hering; parents Martha and Edwin Kahlhamer. She will be missed greatly by her family. Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Catholic Church.
