Rosemary A. Dahl, 77, was born on December 22, 1937 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Gertrude (Mathison) Soat. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She grew up and attended school in Terril, Iowa and completed two years of Community College. Rosemary was united in marriage to Dale Dahl on June 15, 1957 in Estherville, Iowa. This union was blessed with over 57 years of marriage; one son, Michael, born in 1961, and twin daughters, Laura and Lisa, born in 1963. She was a school teacher in Estherville and Terril, Iowa. They moved to Appleton in 1966, where they owned and operated Dahl's Super Valu grocery stores in Appleton, Benson, and Ashby, Minnesota. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She befriended a lot of people through church and community, and she loved her coffee friends. She loved reading, baking, spending time with friends and family, coffee time, and shopping. Rosemary especially loved spending time with her two grandsons, Brandon and Nathan. She brought lots of love, joy, and laughter to everyone around her. She volunteered her time with organizations in the community. She entered the Glenwood Retirement Village in April of 2008. Rosemary was called from this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Glenwood Retirement Village. She is survived by her husband, Dale of Benson; daughters, Laura (Mark) Ascheman of Danvers and Lisa Bonebright of Moorhead; grandsons, Brandon Ascheman and Nathan Ascheman; and three brothers, Don Soat of Jackson, Michigan, Jim (Diana) Soat of San Antonio, Texas, and Bud Soat of Jackson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude Soat; in-laws, Raymond and Evelyn Dahl; her son, Michael; and many aunts, uncles, and nephews.
