Evelyn "Evie" Agnes Gunderson was born on March 19, 1917, in Havelock Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota, the daughter of Septer and Loretta (Brennan) Christiansen. She was one of 6 children. She was baptized, received first Communion, and confirmed at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in DeGraff. She married Earl Gunderson on February 14, 1939, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Evie moved from her childhood home, in 1939, to DeGraff and lived there until she moved to Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson, in 2011. Evie worked hard, never complained, and enjoyed her fellow mates at Simmonds Produce, McNellis and O'Malley Grocery Store, St. Bridget's Rectory, St. Francis rectory, and various baby sitting and house cleaning jobs. She was a member of the St. Bridget's Auxiliary and Mission Ladies Group, and embroidered many thousands of dish towels and baby quilt squares for their sales over the years. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Evie was called from this life on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015 at the Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson. She attained the age of 97 years, 11 months, and 12 days. Evie is survived by her children: Barb Werner of Chaska, Patti (Izzy) Picho of Minneapolis, and Margaret (Bob) Atchison of Deming, Washington; 10 grandchildren: Kelly Fischer, Kim (Robert) Raiolo, Kreg Werner, Kris Werner, Audie Picho, Jodie (Tim) Driscoll, Nikki Larson, Marni Atchison, Mark Atchison, and Bobbi Atchison; 20 great- grandchildren: Michael, Marya, Mandy, Anthony, Alyssa, Brianne, Grace, Amber, Megan, Colin, Samantha, Cody, Charley Jo, Danielle, Bailee, R.J., Dominic, Demetrius, Desiree, and Austin; and 9 great- great-grandchildren: Jaden, Joshua, Alice, Bailee, Ava, Brody, Darby, Dahlia, and Aubrey; siblings: Winsel (June) Christiansen of Maynard, Beverly (Kenneth) Holien of Burnsville, and Robert Christiansen of Arizona. Preceding her in death were her parents, Septer and Loretta; husband, Earl; infant son, Richard; and brothers, Donald and Harold Christiansen.
