Carl R. Ehrenberg died on February 1, 2015, at the Clarkfield Care Center. He attained 82 years, 9 months, and 16 days of age. Funeral services will be Friday, February 6th at 11:00 A.M., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00A.M., on Friday at the church. Carl Rudolph Ehrenberg was born April 15, 1932, in Shible Township, the son of Carl and Augusta (Schmidt) Ehrenberg. He was baptized on May 8, 1932 and was confirmed on April 14, 1946, both by Pastor Gierke. Carl attended Country School through the Eighth grade and then attended Appleton High School, where he graduated in 1950. He was raised on a farm north of Appleton. Carl served with the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, where he was stationed in Germany. On September 30, 1961 Carl was united in marriage to Myrtice Tostenson. They farmed together until Myrtice's death in 1999. Carl was a member of VFW Post #4955. He enjoyed fishing, camping, attending the Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo at Clear Lake, SD., and always liked to "look at the crops." Carl is survived by a brother, Kermit (Marion) Ehrenberg of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Ehrenberg of Appleton and Kay Tostenson of Sioux City, IA; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Loretta Thielke of Appleton; and life-long family friends, Cynthia (Bill) Banken of Appleton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Augusta Ehrenberg; wife, Myrtice in 1999; brothers: Gerhard, Albert, Roy, Donald, and Ronald; sisters: Mildred Meffert and Ethel DeBuhr.
