Jessie Anderson, age 90, of Benson died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the Swift County Benson Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will be in the Lake Hazel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Jessie (Grussing) Anderson was born March 31, 1924, in DeGraff, Minnesota, to Fred and Annie (Bontjes) Grussing. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Church in Benson in 1946 by Rev. M. Berg. She grew up in the DeGraff and Benson area and attended school in Swift County. On October 5, 1946, Jessie was united in marriage to Ray F. Anderson at the Emmanuel Church Parsonage by Rev. M. Berg. This union was blessed with more than 42 years of marriage, four children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Jessie was a wonderful homemaker and when their children were older, she worked at the Benson High School cafeteria for 16 years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, crocheting, cards, and embroidery. Jessie passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the Swift County Benson Hospital. She had attained 90 years, 7 months, and 25 days of age. She is survived by her children: Gene (Donna) Anderson of Benson, Connie Sankey of Glenwood, David (June) Anderson of Glenwood, and Gerald (Carrie) Anderson of Benson; grandchildren: Toni (Doug) Moscho, Bobbi (Jarrad) Maiers, Michelle (Dan) Berg, and Kendra (Nick) Razink; and great-grandchildren: Katelynn, Jaren, Tyler, Madisyn, Blake, and Locke. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray, in 1989; six brothers: Fred, Harry, Andy, John, George, and Edwin Grussing; and two sisters: Jennie Grussing, in infancy, and Hilda Magnuson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lake Hazel Lutheran Cemetery.
