Rebecca Jean Paulsrud was born June 1, 1953 in Benson, Minnesota to Charles Darrell and Barbara Jean (Neuhaus) Connelly. She was baptized on July 19, 1953 by Rev. E.R. Meichner and confirmed on May 5, 1968 by Rev. James Meichner at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1971. On December 10, 1977, Becky was united in marriage to Harlan Douglas Paulsrud at St. Mark's Lutheran Church by Rev. William Stockman. This union was blessed with more than 36 years of marriage, three children, and two grandchildren. Through the years, Becky worked at United Farmers Elevator, U of M St. Paul, Lorenz, ASC Office, McKinney's, Daycare, Church Secretary, School Cook, Auction Centers, Cloverleaf, Viking Café, Riverwood Bank, and J.A.X of Benson. She was a member of Book Club, St. Mark's Lutheran Church Golden Age, and Homemakers. Becky always enjoyed family time, especially with her grandchildren and children, relaxing at the lake, cooking, baking, making lefse for the holidays, canning, reading, and visiting with friends and family. She enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially attending her children, nieces and nephews activities (everyone's biggest fan), she loved going to demo derbies and gambling with her daughters, sewing, knitting, playing cards, watching Game Show Network, and she loved to shop, shop, shop! On November 10, 2014, we lost a very special person. Becky was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandma, sister, and aunt. She passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital. She had attained 61 years, 5 months, and 9 days of age. We will all miss her kind and loving heart, great smile and wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her husband, Harlan of Benson; children: Michael (Annie) Paulsrud of Sauk Rapids, Melissa Paulsrud of Benson, and Melinda (Derek) Wrobleski of Benson; grandchildren: Landon Paulsrud and Madyson Chan; father, Charles (Rita) Connelly of Benson; siblings: Laurie (Steve) Mortenson, Jon (Cathy) Connelly, Lisa (John) Huston, Chad (Cindy) Connelly, and Jason (Robin) Connelly, all of Benson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Connelly; her grandparents; and niece, Jennifer Huston.
