Lucille R. Hanson, 93, of Benson, died on Sunday, October 12, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 15, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Lucille Rowena Krause Hanson was born the youngest of 14 children on September 8, 1921, the daughter of J.F. and Mary Rist Krause, on a farm near Revillo. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John Lutheran Church in Revillo. She graduated from Revillo High School. On August 20, 1938, she was united in marriage to Raymond Lee Abner. This union was blessed with four children; Mary Lou (Roy) Terwilliger, Donna Rae Chalmers, Sandra Lea (Dean) Bergersen, and Michael Raymond (Mary Anne) Abner. Ray passed away on September 5, 1962. Lucille married Robert A. Ranney on September 5, 1965. He passed away in December of 1974. Lucille married Fred J. Hanson on October 25, 1980. He passed away in 1997. Lucille enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and doing hand sewing, which included many cherished pieces of hardanger. She loved baking and cooking for family and friends. She was employed by the Benson Veterinary Clinic and Fashion Flair. She was very active in her church. Lucille is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
